Preparing Your Written Performance Document

Whether you call is a PRP. PAR, C.V. or Resume, the bottom line is that you will need to put your management and leadership actions into words.  These actions should be your current and past performance as relating to the expectations at level two (supervises a unit of work) of the organizational responsibility within the RCMP.  Of course, if you have performance examples at level 3, detail those also.

We will discuss in more detail some tips in identifying what are "great" examples.  However, it is safe to say that you should already have a past/current PRP from the NCO process (or a past OCP Performance Accomplishment Report) to use as your starting point.  NOTE...starting point.  You are expected to be giving high end
behavioral examples reflecting the second level of organizational responsibility.  You may want to consider also including some "work-in-progress" examples that you have on-going right now.  If you do not have any, strongly consider making that a high priority.  Here is a case in point...my "almost" brother-in-law played NHL hockey for the New York Rangers.  He outlined in detail the continuous, huge pressure on him to perform.  His past meant nothing...all he heard was "what can you do for me today and tomorrow".  Just keep this in mind.  Commissioned Officers are expected to be leaders in the area of "proactivity".  Self generating new tasks, root problem solving with the community and enthusiastically taking on new challenges as they arise.  You will be expected to demonstrate that you are this type of individual.  If you cannot show this is "word and deed", you are going to be behind the eight ball!
