Becoming "global"
in your perspective is very important.
Here are a few
tips and readings to help in your quest to expand globally.
Tip#1 - Consider reading a monthly magazine called "Fast Company". It is
the cutting edge in areas such as "state-of-the-are) business models, leadership
trends and change management. I have been reading this magazine for almost
two years now and have found it unbelievably educational and inspiring.
Tip #2 -
Commissioned Officers are expected to be "change agents" in both word and deed.
Here is an outstanding index of web-only stories and features on the "change
agent" principles.

Tip #3 - Reading Here are just a few
of the books that I found foundational during my preparation in the NCO and OCDP
process and since then. Don't try to read them all! Pick and choose
what interests you.
Tip #4 -
Something that I found very beneficial throughout the past five years in my
quest for "getting global" is a monthly publication called Executive Excellence
magazine. I ordered both the monthly magazine and the audio tape version.
I did not always have time to read, so I plugged in the tape while I was driving
or while jogging.
Executive Excellence magazine is a leading monthly digest of the world’s best
value-centered, principle-based ideas and strategies for organizational and
executive development. Each month, 16 to 20 of the world’s leading thinkers and
practitioners share their cutting edge management ideas and strategies in digest
format. Stay connected to Warren Bennis, Ken and Marjorie Blanchard, Brian
Tracy, Stephen R. Covey, Peter Senge, Gifford and Elizabeth Pinchot, Charles
Garfield, and dozens of others.
